The Blackhawks will take on the full $5.5 million due in each of the final two contract seasons for a veteran forward caught up in a Kraken numbers game of wingers following Thursday’s trade for Mason

The Kraken got winger Andre Burakovsky’s salary off the books, trading him to the Blackhawks in a player-for-player trade.

Burakovsky has been an extremely efficient scorer throughout his career, but he's now 30 and coming off two poor seasons. The Hawks acquired him for Joe Veleno on Saturday.
