A Broadway play was broadcast live on television for the first time ever Saturday. CNN aired the evening performance of "Good Night, and Good Luck" starring George Clooney.

Clooney, who directed the 2005 film version, plays journalist Edward R. Murrow in the play, his Broadway debut

"Good Night, and Good Luck" originated as a 2005 film starring George Clooney, David Strathairn, Patricia Clarkson and Robert Downey Jr. The film tells the story of broadcast journalist Edward R. Murrow's mission to challenge Senator Joseph McCarthy.
