The town of Nederland, Colorado, announced on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 that it had signed a letter of intent to purchase the nearby Eldora Mountain from its current owners, POWDR Corp., marking a significant step towards local ownership of the ski resort.

To pay for Eldora, the town will issue municipal revenue bonds “backed only by the resort’s earnings, which is profitable enough to service the debt.”

Eldora Mountain ski area could soon have a new owner. Trustees of the neighboring town of Nederland announced on Tuesday a plan to purchase the Colorado resort.
