Sam Horsfield was disqualified from The Open qualifier for leaving the course after playing only nine holes. The player himself explained the reason.

LIV Golf's Sam Horsfield was one of more than a dozen players from the fledgling circuit who flew back from a LIV event in Dallas and attempted to qualify.

The Open Championship, golf’s oldest major, is set to take place from 17–20 July 2025 at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland. However, before golfers reach the famed links, they must survive two intense rounds in Final Qualifying. 36­-hole “marathons” held at venues like West Lancashire, Burnham & Berrow, Dundonald and Royal Cinque Ports.
