Meta is preparing to launch its first smart glasses, Hypernova, next month with a reduced starting price of around $800, comparable to the cost of an iPhone 17.

Meta has a bunch of features that they expect could justify the premium pricing. For starters, the Hypernova smart glasses will run built-in apps such as WhatsApp, Maps, and Messenger.

The device is expected to be released sometime in 2025. Meta is already working on the Hypernova 2, which will display information on both lenses, and plans to release it in 2027.
