Folk would bring considerably more reliability to the Jets' kicking game. Together, Mougey and special teams coordinator Chris Banjo must decide if they want to gamble on Mevis or Davis being a long-term solution. Signing Folk would obviously be a short-term fix.

They settled down in recent practices, but the Jets brought in Folk for a tryout Monday and decided to make the change.
