Wyc Grousbeck was expected to be in his current role as Celtics governor through 2028, but that will reportedly no longer be the case.

Per senior ESPN reporter Ramona Shelburne in a recent social media post, "while Bill Chisholm will technically be the Celtics Governor, he and ... Grousbeck plan to run the team together as originally planned." This will have Chisholm as the team's official governor and Grousbeck serving as an alternate governor, according to Shelburne.

Wyc Grousbeck will no longer stay on as governor as part of the Celtics' $6.1 billion sale to Bill Chisholm, sources told ESPN.
