Brace yourselves, passengers: Thanksgiving air travel expected to hit 15-year high, FAA says
This Thanksgiving holiday travel period is expected to be the busiest in 15 years, federal officials said, as Americans brush off the recent government shutdown that snarled air travel across the country.
The new flight to Belize City will run three times a week on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays and depart Fort Lauderdale at 10:15 a.m. to arrive at 11:40 a.m. On the way back, the flight will leave Belize City at 12:35 p.m. to arrive at Fort Lauderdale at 4 p.m. for a total flight time of two hours and 25 minutes.
That’s why Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy is using the Thanksgiving rush to insert what he says is some much-needed civility back into the act of travel. That means “dress up to go to the airport, help a stranger out, and be in a good mood,” he wrote in a post on X.
