The tragic fate of Gabby Petito is explored in American Murder,and the story of her complex relationship with Brian Laundrie.

The streaming service announced that “American Murder: Gabby Petito” premieres Feb. 17. “In 2021, Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie went on a four-month road trip across the United States documenting their van life on social media. Only one of them returned,” Netflix wrote alongside the trailer on Facebook.

Scott Peterson, Laci’s husband, was convicted of the brutal murder. He maintains his innocence from prison. “American Murder: Laci Peterson” included an interview with Amber Frey, the woman with whom Scott was living a double life at the time of Laci’s disappearance. Frey was instrumental in building the case against Scott Peterson.

Netflix has released a trailer for its chilling true crime documentary American Murder examining the death of Gabby Petito, which made headlines in the summer of 2021. The 22-year-old woman was travelling across the United States in a van with her partner, Brian Laundrie, when she disappeared without a trace in late August.
