Chappell Roan appeared on Amazon Music's "Country Heat Weekly" podcast to discuss her upcoming lesbian country single, "The Giver."

After teasing the song for weeks, and months after its live debut, Chappell Roan has released her new country single “The Giver.” The lesbian country anthem is all fiddles and kickin’ up dirt, a hoedown about how it takes a real woman to please another woman: “Ain’t no country boy quitter, I get the job done,” she sings on the chorus.

Last week, pop sensation Chappell Roan announced that she plans to release a new song called “The Giver” tomorrow, which she herself called a “country” song, saying she grew up listening to country and it was all around her growing up in small town Missouri.

I really just did it for fun,” Roan said of the new single. “I’m not switching genres or anything. I wanted to write a country song because I just thought it would be funny. It’s campy and fun.” The singer explained that her connection to country music goes back many years.
