The Arab world has told Hamas to disarm and surrender control of Gaza. Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Egypt called for the Palestinian terror group to disband on Tuesday, the first time they have done so.

A UN conference aimed at reviving efforts toward a two-state solution in the Middle East drew to a close in New York on Tuesday with a call from 17 countries for an end to Hamas rule in the Gaza Strip and concrete steps to end the conflict.

A total of 50 hostages remain in the Gaza Strip of the 251 people abducted by Hamas during its October 7, 2023, attack on Israel that killed approximately 1,200 people. Israeli authorities say 20 of the hostages are still alive. Hamas-run health authorities report over 57,000 Palestinian deaths since 2023 in the Israel's response.
