Florida baseball landed its fourth player out of the transfer portal, getting a commitment from Jacksonville OF Jordan Bastian

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A woman was shot and killed at a block party on Jacksonville's Mid-Westside Friday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. At approximately 9:30 p.m., JSO Sgt. Steve Rudlaff said a ShotSpotter activation went out" in the 1100 block of Grothe Street.

He’s Maason Smith, a second-year defensive tackle out of Louisiana State University. Last year, while most of the Jacksonville Jaguars defense deflated, Smith held his own. A judge in Onslow County has sentenced a former bank executive to more then a year and a half in prison after being found guilty of indecent liberties with a child, according to court documents. Court documents show that Judge Judge Imelda Pate sentenced John Rouse to 16-20 months behind bars on Wednesday.

Lake Jacksonville was closed on Thursday due to high water levels, but as of Saturday morning, it has been reopened.

For the fourth time this year in Jacksonville, a man was killed during closing-time altercations outside nightclubs.

Twain is donating $25,000 to Feeding Northeast Florida, which will help provide more than 150,000 meals to local families struggling with food insecurity. She will be doing this as part of her summer tour. Shania says she’s making similar donations in every city she visits.
