Jonas Valanciunas had a complicated path to travel in order to arrive with the Denver Nuggets after his trade away from the Sacramento Kings. Nuggets fans were surely shocked when they saw all the franchise needed to pay for acquiring a quality backup center like Valanciunas was Dario Saric.

The Nuggets acquired Valanciunas to give backup support to center Nikola Jokic, a three-time league MVP. Jokic averaged a career-high 36.7 minutes per game last season, his eighth straight campaign of averaging more than 30 minutes per outing.

After rumors surrounding his future swirled, Jonas Valančiūnas has let it be known that he intends to remain in the NBA.
