Mullins arrived Friday about 2 1/2 hours before first pitch and was activated on the roster but not inserted into the starting lineup.

The New York Mets have acquired outfielder Cedric Mullins from the Baltimore Orioles ahead of Thursday’s MLB trade deadline. Multiple reports had linked the Mets to Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr.

Mullins marks the fifth player traded by the 50-59 Orioles this month, joining relievers Bryan Baker, Seranthony Dominguez and Andrew Kittredge and infielder Ramon Urías. The club later traded DH Ryan O'Hearn and outfielder Ramon Laureano to the San Diego Padres.
