Italy has cleared the way to build the world’s largest suspension bridge linking the Italian mainland with Sicily.

Italy's government has given the green light to build a $24 billion bridge connecting Sicily to the mainland. It will be the world’s longest suspension bridge, measuring 3.7 kilometres. The project has previously been delayed due to debates over logistics, earthquake risks, and environmental impact.
