Donald J. Trump has said that once he is sworn in as president on Monday, he will quickly release records relating to the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, his brother Robert F. Kennedy and the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as part of measures to restore confidence in government.

Some marchers carried signs saying “no human should be illegal” and “immigrants rights are civil rights,” referencing President Donald Trump’s rhetoric.

The holiday is celebrated each year on the third Monday of January, falling on Jan. 20 this year, which coincides with the presidential inauguration.

As a federal and state-observed holiday for the U.S. Postal Service, post offices will be closed on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, so you will not receive your regular mail or packages. USPS priority mail will be the only service in operation. Banks and their branches will be closed as well for the holiday.
