Cal Fire crews responded to two small fires Monday amid gusty Santa Ana winds and low humidity that was creating dangerous fire weather. One fire was located near a U.S. Navy facility in the Cleveland National Forest and the other involving a recreational vehicle sparked in the community of Bonsall.

On Saturday at 9:53 p.m. the NWS San Diego CA issued an updated red flag warning valid from Monday 10 a.m. until Tuesday 10 p.m.

A red flag warning was set to expire for San Diego County Wednesday as Santa Ana winds diminish, although dry conditions could still create concern for wildfires in the days to come, forecasters said.

Red flag warnings for potential wildfire danger will be in effect from 10 a.m. Monday to at least 10 p.m. Tuesday for the inland valley and mountain areas throughout the county, according to the National Weather Service.

This weekend's cool temperatures and higher humidity are expected to give way to more Santa Anas and a new red flag warning Monday.

"If fire ignition occurs, conditions are favorable for very rapid fire spread and extreme fire behavior," the NWS warns.

Santa Ana winds increased Monday morning, prompting San Diego Gas & Electric to began a new set of Public Safety Power Shutoffs across the county, affecting just under 1,000 customers with the potential to reach over 80,

Griffith Park and other Los Angeles-area parks were closed Monday due to the increased risk of wildfires to start the week in Southern California.

Another round of fire weather is expected to last for much of this week as residents return home to the Palisades and Altadena neighborhoods to inspect the devastation.
