A South Central Texas utility company announced a first-in-Texas partnership with Elon Musk's Tesla through the Electric Reliability Council of Texas.

Tesla Inc. is planning a grid-scale battery manufacturing site in Waller County that’s expected to create 1,500 jobs in thee years. The site will build the Austin company’s Megapack batteries, a large-scale energy storage system for solar and other renewable energy projects.

The electric car company led by Elon Musk builds all the cars it sells in the United States in California and Texas, shielding it from tariffs that could devastate competitors.

Anti-Musk activists are aiming to "shut down business at the Tesla showrooms across the nation," including in Austin.

Tesla is delivering the first Launch edition of the Model Y 'Juniper' to customers and will hold a handoff events on March 8. Price will come down in the coming months.

Waymo brings its robotaxis to Tesla’s home town of Austin, Texas, via the Uber app. And one other big city will see Waymo cars later this year.
