Star India batter Shubman Gill looked in fine touch, but an exceptional piece of fielding by Glenn Phillips saw Gill depart on a score of 31 runs in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final.

Glenn Phillips has been the standout fielder in the ninth edition of the ICC Champions Trophy and in the final against India on Sunday, he pulled off another unbelievable grab to end dismiss Shubman Gill and bring New Zealand back in the contest.

On the fourth ball of the 19th over, Glenn Phillips flew in the air to grab the ball out of nowhere, leaving Shubman Gill shell-shocked. Off the bowling of Mitchell Santner, Gill drove the ball towards cover as it was a well-flighted delivery.

Rohit Sharma’s Indian cricket team is heavy favourites for the title but New Zealand have beaten Men in Blue in two out of two ICC finals so far. The last time India won an ICC ODI title was also in 2013.

Phillips caught a sensational catch to get Shubman Gill out in the 2025 Champions Trophy final in Dubai on March 9th.
