A 9-year-old girl reported missing near Exit 22 of I-87 in Lake George on the night of July 19 has been found dead, authorities confirmed.

Hours after an Amber Alert was issued for Melina Frattolin on July 20, the 9-year-old was found dead in Ticonderoga, N.Y. Police said 'there is no indication that an abduction occurred' after finding 'inconsistencies' in her father's account of events.

G LENS FALLS, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say an autopsy of the Montreal child found dead in a wooded pond near Lake George over the weekend determined she was the victim of a homicide. Her father, who claimed she was abducted, has pleaded not guilty to her murder.

Police sent an alert to people's phones saying Melina Galanis Frattolin was last seen southbound in a white van on I-87 near exit 22 at 9:40 p.m. Saturday.

Police in Warren County issued an AMBER Alert early Sunday for a young girl that was missing. Sources have confirmed to NewsChannel 13’s Mark Mullholland that the girl has been found dead. Police have not yet released any information about where the child was found dead.
