A federal judge in Massachusetts on Monday ordered the federal government to continue Medicaid funding for Planned Parenthood affiliates, writing the health organization was likely to prevail in a dispute over President Trump's tax-and-spending law.

More than 20 mostly Democratic-led states sued the Trump administration Tuesday over its efforts to cut Medicaid payments to the nation’s largest abortion provider — Planned Parenthood.

“Patients are likely to suffer adverse health consequences where care is disrupted or unavailable,” Talwani wrote in her Monday order.
