At least two people died and 32 others were injured after a bridge collapsed over a river in India's western Maharashtra state, sweeping others into the water.

Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge expressed condolences over the loss of lives in the bridge collapse in Pune and wished speedy recovery of those inured. The Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha also said such preventable disasters demand meaningful questions be asked of those in power.
