Leaders from Europe's two largest economies have led a chorus of gloomy reactions to the trade deal struck between EU chief Ursula von der Leyen and US President Donald Trump.
France denounced the trade agreement between the European Union and the U.S. as a "submission" on Monday though other EU states largely backed a deal they acknowledged was lopsided but which averts an economically damaging trade war with Washington.
The roads were dangerously slippery after heavy rain. A fourth Tour de France title was all but won anyway, so finishing safely in the pack would do fine for Tadej Pogačar.

Tadej Pogačar underlined his status as one of cycling’s greats by winning his fourth Tour de France title on Sunday, leaving him just one shy of the overall record.
Team SD Worx-Protime’s Lorena Wiebes out-sprinted Team Visma Lease-A-Bike’s Marianne Vos to win Stage 4 of the Tour de France Femmes, her second victory in as many days. Wiebes was able to secure her eighth Tour de France stage success, taking her to 109 career wins in total, but had Vos on her wheel the whole way in to Poitiers.
Last year’s Tour concluded outside Paris for the first time since 1905 because of a scheduling conflict with the Olympics, with the final stage held in Nice. The Champs-Élysées returned this year for the conclusion of the 3,320-kilometer (2,060-mile) race.
The announcement came soon after the U.S. cut short Gaza ceasefire talks in Qatar, saying Hamas wasn't showing good faith.
