Michael Vick, the former NFL quarterback and Virginia native, has been officially appointed as the new head football coach at Norfolk State University. Cam Newton, another former NFL star, offered his perspective on Vick’s move to coaching.

Michael Vick has been introduced as Norfolk State’s football coach, a homecoming for the former NFL star and a splashy, attention-grabbing hire for a program that has struggled in recent years.

Following unanimous approval by the Board of Visitors, NSU Director of Athletics Dr. Melody Webb announced that Michael Vick, a four-time Pro Bowl selection and former No. 1 overall NFL draft pick, will lead Norfolk State's football program into a new era.
